Research on Flaxseed Oil
- In a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, scientists studied the effect of flaxseed oil on blood pressure and found that its regular consumption contributes to a significant reduction in both systolic and diastolic pressure, especially when taken for more than 12 weeks.
- In a study published in British Journal of Nutrition, researchers studied the effect of the oil on skin condition and found that daily intake of the supplement significantly reduces skin sensitivity and flaking, while increasing the level of hydration and smoothness.
- In a systematic review published in Archives of Medical Science, scientists studied inflammatory markers and found that flaxseed oil significantly reduces the level of C-reactive protein (a marker of systemic inflammation) in adults, which is important for the prevention of chronic diseases.
- In a study published in the journal The Journal of Nutrition, scientists concluded that alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) from flaxseed oil has a pronounced protective effect on the cardiovascular system, reducing the risk of coronary heart disease by improving vascular elasticity.
- In a scientific paper published in Nutrients, researchers studied the metabolic effects and found that flaxseed oil helps improve insulin sensitivity and reduce fasting blood glucose levels in patients with metabolic syndrome.
- In the journal Nutrition Research, scientists found that consumption of flaxseed oil helps reduce total cholesterol and “bad” cholesterol (LDL) levels in people with moderate hypercholesterolemia, making it an effective tool in dietetics.
- In a study presented in Journal of Dietary Supplements, scientists studied the antioxidant potential of flax oil and found that it increases the overall antioxidant capacity of blood plasma, protecting the body from cell damage by free radicals.
